All types of kidney problems and their symptoms

What is kidney disease?

The kidneys being the filters of the body, are located at the button of the rib cage. Each one of us has one kidney on each side of the spine. The kidneys are essential to having a healthy body function. They help excrete urine and other waste and excess fluid from the blood, while their basic errand is not limited to this only. The kidneys also maintain pH balance, salt, and potassium levels in the body. They are necessary to maintain healthy blood pressure as they produce a hormone called rennin that maintains fluid balance. Not to brag, they also activate a hormone called erythropoietin that assists in the production of red blood cells. The kidneys even trigger a form of vitamin D that helps the body absorb calcium.

Ayurvedic Treatment to Reduce High Serum Creatinine Level

Kidney disease affects millions of people yearly, and there is no exact data about the same since kidney diseases are hard to be diagnosed in the early stages. While kidney disease also leads to multiple health morbidities, they are equally life-threatening. Some of the common complications that can be arisen by kidneys include weak bones and mineral disorders, nerve damage, and malnutrition. In the worst situation, the kidneys may suddenly stop working at all. Dialysis is required to perform the function of the kidneys. But you can also get better with the ayurvedic approach. The ayurvedic approach helps to strengthen the kidney’s filters that sieve the tons of blood each day. Dialysis cannot cure kidneys, so you need ayurvedic treatment eventually.

What are the types of kidney disease?

Chronic kidney disease

The most common type of kidney disease is chronic kidney disease. It is a slow and gradual depletion in the kidney function that withstands for years. The condition may not improve over time until treatment is started. The leading cause includes high blood pressure and diabetes. High blood pressure is perilous for the kidneys as it damages the glomeruli and tubules. Glomeruli and tubules are the tiny vessels that filter the impurities from the blood and absorb important nutrients. Over time, diabetes and high blood pressure weaken the blood vessels that flow to the kidneys.

Acute kidney injury

Acute kidney injury is the loss of kidney function all at the same time. It mainly occurs in people who are already hospitalized or taking treatment for other chronic conditions, or already taking dialysis. Unlike CKD, acute kidney injury can be treated with the treatment, and you can get better like before without much of the complications. And if you primarily take ayurvedic treatment, you may attenuate the risk of permanent kidney failure henceforth.

Kidney stones

Kidney stones are another common kidney problems. Kidney stones, also called renal calculi, occur when minerals and oxalates may deposit themselves as a hard substance in the blood. The only way to pass stone naturally is to allow them to come out of the body during urination. But if natural remedies do not work, you may also go work for surgery. At Karma Ayurveda, we recommend patients only ayurvedic treatment, no matter the type of kidney disease.

Glomerulonephritis

Glomeruli are the network of small blood vessels within the kidneys located at the beginning of a nephron in the kidney. Glomerulonephritis is an inflammation of the glomeruli, probably caused by drugs or infections, or congenital abnormalities. You may need treatment or get better on your own.

Polycystic kidney disease

PKD or Polycystic kidney disease is an innate condition in which thousands of cysts grow on the kidneys. These cysts can interfere with kidney function and cause kidney failure over time. PKD is different from simple cysts that are noncancerous. Polycystic kidney disease is caused by genetic mutations in one or both the parents, and accordingly, the child may inherit the genes. There are two further demonstrations of PKD, Autosomal dominant PKD and Autosomal recessive PKD.

Urinary tract infections

Urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria that may enter the parts of the urinary tract. UTI begins in the bladder and urethra. However, given antibiotics, they can be treated without much of the hassle, and rarely they lead to any severe health condition. But, if you keep on ignoring the signs, the chances are high that recurrent UTI may lead to permanent kidney damage.
