What is the Indian diet for a kidney patient on dialysis?

Dialysis is an artificial procedure of keeping human blood waste and toxin-free. Patients who are suffering from the progression of kidney diseases need this type of treatment for their kidneys. The dialyzer is a type of equipment that the healthcare professionals use to filter the blood. Kidneys that have lost their functioning capability need dialysis.

Indian diet for dialysis patients:

Before breakfast (Between 7:00 hours and 9:00 hours):
  • Half cup tea with wheat biscuits or marigold biscuits.
  • A cup of soaked fenugreek seeds water (On an empty stomach).

Breakfast (Between 10:00 hours and noon):
  • Stuffed paneer parantha (cottage cheese parantha) cooked in less oil.
  • Boiled egg whites (without egg yolk).
  • A bowl of Dalia (broken wheat/porridge).
  • A bowl of vermicelli with vegetables.
  • Tortilla (Chapati) with a small bowl of vegetable.

Brunch (At 13:00 hours):

  • Blackberry

Lunch (Between 14:00 hours and 15:00 hours):


  • 2 Tortillas (Chapati) with a bowl of vegetable.
  • ½ plate salad.
  • 2 Tortillas with a bowl of egg yolk curry.
  • ½ salads.
  • 2 Tortillas with a bowl of paneer (cottage cheese) curry.
  • ½ plate salad.

Snacks (Between 16:00 hours and 17:00 hours):


  • 1 bowl of vegetable upma.
  • Apple
  • Blueberry
  • Strawberry
  • Guava (without seeds)

Dinner (Between 18:00 hours and 20:00 hours):


  • 2 Tortillas (Chapatti) with a bowl of vegetable.
  • ½ plate salad.
  • 2 Tortillas with a bowl of egg yolk curry.
  • ½ salads.
  • 2 Tortillas with a bowl of paneer (cottage cheese) curry.
  • ½ plate salad.

Notes:

Oil: You can use these oils in your food


  • Mustard oil
  • Olive oil
  • Rice-bran oil

Vegetable: You are allowed to consume these vegetables

To be consumed daily:
  • Bottle gourd
  • Sponge gourd
  • Round gourd
  • Pointed gourd
  • Green pumpkin
  • Ridge Gourd

Once a week:
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbage
  • Soy
  • Cottage cheese (Paneer)

Once in ten days:
  • Bitter gourd
  • Carrot
  • Boiled potatoes

Salad: You can consume these vegetables in the form of salad
  • Cucumber
  • Carrot
  • Cabbage
  • Radish
