Ayurvedic Remedies For Urine Infection in Female

UTI is the second most common type of infection in the body that affects millions of females every year. Urinary tract infections may involve infections in the parts of the urinary tract, kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The urine passes through these organs before it is excreted out. The reason why women are more prone to urinary tract infections is that they have a shorter urethra that makes it easy for the bacteria to spread themselves. However, the reason is not fully understood. Men, if they do catch UTI, it is very serious.

 

Urinary tract infection is also called Fearnes syndrome, which is a microbial infection. Usually, urine is sterile, but it contains fluids, salts, and waste products. Mainly, it is E.coli, which lives in the bowel and around the anus. An infection develops when it gets into the bladder or kidney and spreads itself. From there, it moves to the urinary tract. The abnormalities of the urinary tract that hinder the urine flow set the favorable conditions for the bacteria to grow.

Normally, urinary tract infection is treated with antibiotics; there are also many ayurvedic remedies for urine infection in females to treat them and prevent them from happening again.

Urinary tract infections are mainly Pitta predominant. Etiological factors contribute to Pitta’s vitiation, one being Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, which includes Vata vitiating factors. Vitiation of all doshas is related to urinary tract infections in one way or the other. The ayurvedic approach is to treat each dosha, mainly Vata, in achieving vathanulomanatha while making sure that it is not contradicting Pitta.

Reduce High Uric Acid And Creatinine

Ayurvedic factors that lead to urinary tract infections:-

  • Consuming food and drinks that is too spicy, salty, and hot.
  • Drinking less water.
  • Binge drinking alcohol.
  • Suppressing the natural urge for urination.
  • Long, direct exposure to the sun's heat.
  • Habit of emotional outbursts of anger, impatience and jealousy.
  • Working with fire, chemicals, and toxic fumes.

Increase your fluid intake : - Hydration is the leading cause of infections in the urinary tract. Water is known to protrude urine production, and this helps flush bacteria from the urinary tract naturally. Many studies have been done on this aspect, and it was found out that low fluid intake is related to recurrent UTIs. To meet your fluid intake, you should drink water as and when you feel thirsty.

Increase Vitamin C Intake : - There has been evidence that increasing vitamin C intake can attenuate the risk of UTI. Vitamin C promotes the acidity in the urine that stave-off bacterial growth. The study says that vitamin C has a protective effect on bacteria development. So, consume foods or drinks high in vitamin C. Red peppers, oranges, grapefruit, and kiwifruit are some of the few fruits you can consume.

Eat garlic : - A study has been linked to the reduced risk of bacterial growth in those who consume garlic on a daily basis. Its antimicrobial properties are helpful in preventing the growth of bacteria.

Drink unsweetened cranberry juice : - It is one of the most well-known natural remedies for urinary tract infections. Cranberry prevents bacteria from sticking into the walls of the urinary tract and prevents the growth of the bacteria. In one study, it is also found that cranberry juice may not help with UTI, as the fruit itself does. But remember that these benefits only apply to unsweetened cranberry juice, rather than sweetened commercial brands.

Stop alcohol : - Reduce your intake of alcohol, caffeinated drinks, and colas when you have a bladder infection. Such drinks are known to have an irritating effect on the skin and may cause more trouble. These drinks are rich in sugar that allows bacteria colonization.

Apple Cider Vinegar on an empty stomach : - Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink it off on an empty stomach to stave-off bladder infections. Apple cider vinegar is an antibacterial that alkalizes the urine.

Ayurvedic remedies for urine infection in female : - D-Mannose: It is a sugar present in cranberries and has been shown to be helpful in UTI.

Bearberry leaf: It is known as uva-ursi. According to Ayurveda, a blend of bearberry leaf, dandelion root, and dandelion leaf decreased the occurrence of UTI.

Cranberry extract:- Like cranberry, its extracts also prevent bacteria from sticking into the urinary tract.

So, these are some of the useful Ayurvedic remedies for urine infection in females. Recurrent UTI leads to kidney infection called pyelonephritis, which damages the kidney function all at the same time. So, it is important that it should be prevented or treated at the right time.
