In medical terms, kidney disease refers to the insufficiency of the kidneys in channelizing waste and extra fluid from the blood. During kidney disease, the process of urine production slows down to a large extent and many patients also notice little or no urination at that time. The level of waste ought to be eliminated, reach an unsafe point making it tough for the body to perform some of the tasks. Kidney diseases are often life-threatening for many of the complications being brought with them. One such comorbidity is the cardiovascular attack people get during dialysis. The treatment is so painful and troubling in itself, but people are not left with any choice by their doctors.
Hardly someone would ever tell you about kidney dialysis treatment in Ayurveda. It is one of the safest methods involved to cure kidney disease of its roots with no impending effects on your mind and body.
Ayurveda is believed to be an ancient or traditional science that is a perfect blend of herbs and spices, human beings are blessed with. The ayurvedic theory is different in terms of the analysis of disease. According to Ayurvedic scholars, the human body’s energy is properly channelized and there is an integrated balance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. But given our lifestyle and eating habits, the body’s healthy balance gets disturbed and ultimately leads to disorder.
Furthermore, in the evaluation of kidney disease, the channels of the body also hold the utmost importance. In the case of kidney disease, mutravaha srotas play an important role in the transmission of fluid to and from the body. The blockage in the inward channel does not allow kidneys to accept fluid and so they start to shrink. On the contrary, any obstruction in the outward channel does not permit the kidneys to pass urine properly. Such a condition results in urine retention making kidneys swollen. During kidney dialysis treatment in Ayurveda, the use of potent herbs assist the body by cleansing any obstruction or blockage and rejuvenating the kidneys.
The aim of ayurvedic medicines is to restore the general capacity of the kidneys and influence any genetic marks such as in the case of polycystic kidney disease. Once you have started with your ayurvedic treatment, you will notice an improvement in your kidney function parameters and thus less need of dialysis.
Some patients who took ayurvedic treatment by us got exempted from procedures like dialysis.
Well, this is not it. Ayurvedic treatment is completely natural and only includes yoga and a diet plan to restore your health. A diet is crucial to making your kidneys health as they have to excrete the waste produced with food consumption in the form of urine. The less you burden your kidneys with heavy nutrients, the more are the chances to get better. The kidneys have to work less for the excretion process and which subsequently leads to less load on them. A diet during kidney disease is mainly focussed on consuming less of:
- Sodium: Too much sodium leads to fluid retention. It results in high blood pressure.
- Potassium: Too much potassium may result in an irregular heartbeat.
- Phosphorus: Too much phosphorus in your blood when your kidneys cannot remove them result in weakened bones. It results in calcium pull out that is quite dangerous for your health.
- Protein (animal sources): When you consume more protein, the kidneys need more strength to remove them. This results in the rapid progression of kidney disease.
Consulting a dietician would be helpful in such a case of kidney disease. One may have no idea of what foods to eat and avoid during kidney disease and only a dietician can help you in this manner.
Apart from that, yoga also plays an important role in providing strength to your kidneys and abdominal organs. Yoga stretches the muscles and improves blood circulation within the body. More of your body’s functions are also dependent on your blood pressure rate, yoga helps to control high blood pressure to an extent. Yoga gives peace to your mind and body.
