In modern times, herbal medicines are taking over the world. Homeopathy and Ayurveda both are said to be the unconventional treatment with some major differences. When on one hand, Ayurveda is cent percent natural and authentic; on the other hand, homeopathy is a medical system with pseudo-scientific beliefs. There are major differences that make these two methods of treatment stand opposite to each other. Let us read about the different thoughts that make these different from each other.
Difference between Homeopathy and Ayurveda
The discovery of Ayurveda was done in India over 5000 years back. This discovery is said to be Hindu in religion that was discovered to treat the major ailments of the human body that were taking place back then. Ayurveda contains two words Ayur and Veda that together means knowledge of life. It is said to be one holistic approach that comprises of many treatments. There are certain important points that Ayurveda underlines for the good health of humans. It suggests that the human body has three doshasi. eVata, Pitta, and Kapha. It is important for these Doshas to be in the right balance for the good health of the human.
The treatment of Ayurveda is also conducted in the same direction (pacification of Dosha) to bring back good health with the help of Ayurvedic herbs and medicines made out of it. There are various herbs that can be easily found in every household and there would be a number of Ayurvedic things we would be using knowingly or unknowingly in our daily life for example Chyawanprash.
On the other hand, the homeopathic system of medicines was founded in Germany by Samuel Christian Hahnemann. It was a discovery done for humankind 200 years back. Homeopathy is also made up of two words, Homeo, and Pathy which means similar and science respectively. The homeopathic system of medicines encourages our immune system to fight against any sort of infection in the body. Homeopathy has its own fundamental standards to work upon for the betterment of health i.e. “dilution principle” and “guideline of similar”.
How differently both treatments work?
Ayurveda firmly says that the good health of humans depends on the three components called dosha and it is important for these components to be in the right alignment. If there comes any imbalance, be it minor or major, it can make the human body diseased. Ayurveda is a process that comprises of eight orders. These orders are herbal medicines, diet, medical surgery, mental treatment, toxic removal, diseases and complications awareness, and the treatment by the fixation of immunity.
But, the homeopathic treatment firmly believes in the vitalist philosophy. According to the belief of homeopathy, there are varied internal and external reasons that can cause disturbances in the vital force. The effect of these disturbances is always negative on the body. When it comes to the treatment, the physical and psychological states are taken into consideration. As the literal meaning of homeopathy is similar science, it is believed that a particular disease with certain symptoms can be treated with medicines that have similar signs as the ailment.
Medicinal difference
For the development of Ayurvedic medicines various herbs, vegetables, minerals, animal items like milk, etc. are used. In addition, yoga and meditation also play a good role in treating a person. The therapeutic and healing ability of these medicines has the ability to treat any loss from the cellular level. Ayurveda is proficient in treating fatal health conditions like kidney failure, heart issues, and many other diseases. Ayurveda is not only within the native borders but is accepted as an unconventional treatment all around the world. Ayurveda and yoga together are ruling the world of treatment.
The medicines of homeopathy are made with the help of various synthetic materials, plants, animals, and other minerals. The preparation of the medicines completes when these things get diluted with alcohol and distilled water. This process transfers the quality of the substance to the liquid and it is further used. However, homeopathy is not evolved enough to treat major issues like kidney failure or liver diseases. Also, there are major safety concerns associated with homeopathic medicines.
